The Traditional Assessment of Wellness

Scores range from 10 to 100, the sum of your scores on five items 1 to 10, doubled. Higher scores show greater health.

Scores and items that are underlined are above average and healthy, while those with lines above them are the opposite.

Circled numbers show a score’s ranking out of 8 (1 is healthiest).

ENVY

Delighting in others’ misfortunes.  Reacting to their success with sadness, resentment, jealousy, or self-pity.

 

Concern

Helping, encouraging, and empathizing with people in trouble. Thoughtful toward the down and out.

RESENTMENT

Harboring grudges or anger, wishing or working for revenge, including passive-aggressive neglect.

When hurt, showing forgiveness, patience, calling for help, and gently expressing the hurt in words.

GREED

Valuing money and possessions to neglect of family and friends.   Identity and worth come from material things.

Living simply, generously, and saving for the future. Things are used, people loved, not vice-versa.

LAZINESS                                

Neglecting important responsibilities and activities to relax and take it easy. Needing to be entertained.

Being sexually selfish. Neglecting, betraying, offending loved ones, imagining base instincts in them and others.

Saving sexual enjoyment for celebrating and consummating intimacy in a com- mitted partnership.

GLUTTONY

Over-indulging in food, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and other pain-killing, addictive acti-vities and substances.

 

Body/Health

            PHYSICAL FITNESS

Keeping the body fit with healthy diet and exercise to enhance energy, attractiveness, and longevity.

DENIAL

Preferring to avoid looking at one’s faults, and presenting oneself on this test as healthier than one really is.

 

Truth

                       HONESTY

Telling the truth, and living out the same values and priorities in all settings, with transparent motives.
